Do we need a ticket to travel ?"(Claire Sauvaget, 2009). The Birmingham Institute of Art and Design (BIAD, Birmingham, RU).

Automortrait is a project of a video installation which explores the first scene of the video installation "Do we need a ticket to travel ?"(Claire Sauvaget, 2009).
Automortrait shows the strange relation between the artist and her own image in the miror of the bathroom, during one of her introspective experience, when she lived in England in 2009. She was starring at the miror, every morning before going to the university (Birmingham Institute of Art and Design, in Birmingham). This eery moment with the mirror was the starting point for the creation of "Do we need a ticket to travel ?". In the same way as the repetiton of a word removes the meaning of the word and keeps only the sound material, starring at his own face causes the lost of his identity : We are in the experience of "automortrait" (the word "Automortrait" is a neologism in french between the words "autoportrait" (self-portrait) and "mort" (death) ).
